Jackie Kirk is interested in narrative and exploring it further through this MA course. It is important to Jackie to create work with meaning and so this current work is inspired by the idea of tackling taboos that still exist in today’s society.

​

Despite an estimated 1 in 4 people suffering some form of mental illness each year, there is still a stigma surrounding those affected. This work is beginning to explore the complex area of mental health, creating narratives that aim to challenge perceptions using historical references and contemporary inspirations.
