Chelsea Brown
Chelsea Brown is a multidisciplinary artist whose work mainly deals with feminine power with a particular interest in ancient mythological and religious ideology.
Chelsea's major Master's project She Was Here visualizes and rebuilds the matrilineal heritage of the omnipotent and independent Goddess. The lineage begins with Her ancient and revered Paleolithic vestiges and investigates the intrinsic connections between the female deities that wielded the power of She through the millennia. By locating the divine female powers of ancient religious mythology and discovering the connections between them, this project seeks to understand how the almighty Goddess came to be absent from contemporary Western religious mythology.
